Today's episode is number 274.5, the Dark Side of Member Voting at Your Club. This is an episode I got to do. This is a unique episode. I find this very fascinating. We talked with Paul Dank over at ASG Investigations Member Voting and he shares their unique approach to background checks and research and how they use public record information, open source information, and how all of that really reveals kind of crucial details about people who might be trying to join your club. This is stuff that can't be found in just a normal Google search. We dive into the importance of evaluating a member's values. One of the bigger topics Paul emphasizes is the need for clubs to adapt to the changing times and how they conduct their due diligence. One of the main points is how the limitations of most clubs member vetting process. it allows the applicant to control most of the information in the process. Paul just tells some really cool juicy findings and stuff that you find out about potential members, such as someone who tried to join a club and they end up finding they sued the past three clubs that they've been members of, but it was in different states, something like that. It was pretty crazy, but there are stories like that. In this episode we talk about the art of vetting. We explore the real nitty gritty of club member vetting, what it really entails, because there really is a whole art to it. Google only represents 5% of the internet and there's 95% more out there that people don't even search or really even know exists. Part of the conversation we have is around the web of connections and the club culture and the information that they pick up about these potential applicants around the internet and put those pieces together and then give you the information. So just putting the pieces together and showing the data of who they might be related to or who they are related to or maybe what different organizations or political campaigns that they have donated to. But my favorite is really just hearing the stories about what people try to hide or what they lie about and get caught. for I think it's a fun episode. I think you'll enjoy it. Worth the listen. So if you want to learn and deep dive into the world of club member vetting, this is the episode for you.
