00:00:00.080 --> 00:00:14.683
Hey everybody, welcome to the Private Club Radio Show, where we give you the scoop on all things private golf and country clubs, From mastering, leadership and management, food and beverage excellence, member engagement secrets, board governance and everything in between, all while keeping it fun and light.

00:00:14.683 --> 00:00:20.381
Whether you're a club veteran just getting your feet wet or somewhere in the middle, you are in the right place.

00:00:20.381 --> 00:00:22.082
I'm your host, Denny Corby.

00:00:22.082 --> 00:00:23.603
Welcome to the show.

00:00:23.603 --> 00:00:34.307
I am sitting down with a good friend of mine, good friend of the industry.

00:00:34.307 --> 00:00:35.829
We have Sean Blyle.

00:00:35.848 --> 00:00:49.756
If you don't know, Sean Blyle one of the most giving people, I would say, in the club industry, coming from a club professional, working his way up the ranks to general manager and then now client development at Members First.

00:00:49.756 --> 00:01:02.332
So I mean, when we talk about a club professional, he just gives so much value to everybody and anybody and it's not always about a sale with him, which is absolutely fantastic.

00:01:02.332 --> 00:01:03.476
I think that's why he and I clicked so well.

00:01:03.476 --> 00:01:04.361
But it's not about him.

00:01:04.361 --> 00:01:06.409
It's not about that, Not about him, members first.

00:01:06.409 --> 00:01:25.290
It's about us, because we are, we're tag teaming with some other amazing people and we are doing the 2024 PCMA New England annual retreat coming up November 7th at Neshada Country Club and whoo man, we are in for a full day of education.

00:01:25.290 --> 00:01:26.646
We're gonna talk about it in the episode.

00:01:26.646 --> 00:01:35.471
The best bang for buck, I think, going Just between the amount of content, the amazing food, the people who are gonna be there.

00:01:35.471 --> 00:01:38.209
And it's not just for membership, not just about marketing.

00:01:38.209 --> 00:01:48.173
We have people across the entire club industry being there, from CFOs controllers, food and beverage general managers, marketing, membership, and that's what we talk about.

00:01:48.173 --> 00:01:50.221
That's where ideas, that's where innovation comes from.

00:01:51.304 --> 00:01:52.908
It's going to be a fantastic event.

00:01:52.908 --> 00:01:54.352
Sean and I are going to talk about it.

00:01:54.352 --> 00:01:57.224
So, yeah, let's get to it.

00:01:57.224 --> 00:02:03.325
And if you are not busy November 7th and you are intrigued, link in the show notes to register.

00:02:03.325 --> 00:02:05.290
I'm going to be there, Sean's going to be there.

00:02:05.290 --> 00:02:07.287
We're going to be a bunch of people.

00:02:07.287 --> 00:02:10.229
We're going to be giving and delivering so much value.

00:02:10.229 --> 00:02:12.787
Enough about me talking, let's get to it.

00:02:12.787 --> 00:02:13.580
So, yeah.

00:02:13.580 --> 00:02:53.132
So we have the PCMA annual retreat coming up and I mean well, first off, you A as a human, I just want to say thank you because you do so much for the club, reasons why this is even going on, I would say, for the most part, or is is going to be as good as it's going to be Like it's, it's going to be amazing.

00:02:54.694 --> 00:03:06.306
So I'm going to say, I'm going to say thanks, but I'm also going to say right back at you, I think every, I think every time, every time I chat with people and I say that, hey, do you know, my friend Denny, they all do.

00:03:06.306 --> 00:03:14.914
So I think you're doing just as many good things for the industry as you just said that I did Stop it, but that does mean the world to me, denny.

00:03:14.914 --> 00:03:33.740
I appreciate it no-transcript.

00:03:35.781 --> 00:03:36.442
I think it's going to be awesome.

00:03:36.442 --> 00:03:40.992
I'm super excited that you're making the trip north, making the trip north to New England.

00:03:40.992 --> 00:03:46.581
So it should be really great north to New England.

00:03:46.581 --> 00:03:47.644
So it should be really great.

00:03:47.644 --> 00:04:14.509
And you're right, it actually started with a conversation that Sandra Petty, the Chief of Staff and Membership and Marketing Director at Neshada Country Club, and I had a few months ago, and it was really just about kind of some fun ideas that she was trying to implement and I was like I think other people would want to know about this, and then we chatted with this person and that person and then now we've got what I like to call a collection of friends that are actually doing the presenting and the speaking.

00:04:14.509 --> 00:04:16.153
So I'm actually really fun to see.

00:04:16.153 --> 00:04:34.108
You know, we're expecting 50 people hopefully more to attend the event up here, but it was really cool because it started off with, you know, this person having an idea and then that piggybacked off of another idea and then it turned into, I think, danny, what do we have?

00:04:34.108 --> 00:04:34.524
We?

00:04:34.906 --> 00:04:37.526
have like five and a half hours of education going on that day.

00:04:38.920 --> 00:04:41.725
And with that education I mean, you can get credit for it.

00:04:43.100 --> 00:04:44.105
Not a bad thing, right.

00:04:44.586 --> 00:04:45.088
Not at all.

00:04:47.064 --> 00:04:50.192
What does our friend Shanna Bright from Private Clubs Online always say?

00:04:50.192 --> 00:04:52.946
It's always good to learn and earn.

00:04:55.271 --> 00:04:56.221
Exactly so.

00:04:56.221 --> 00:04:58.728
It's one of those even if you don't want to come, you almost feel like you have to.

00:04:58.728 --> 00:05:00.747
It's like, oh well, if I'm going to get credit for it, all right.

00:05:19.281 --> 00:05:23.166
All right, but I mean we invited all the associations so you can get your CMA credits, your HFTP credits, your NEGCOA, your PGA, your GCSA, your ABCs, your NDAs.

00:05:23.166 --> 00:05:25.331
I mean really what we're seeing with the people who have already attended.

00:05:25.331 --> 00:05:39.774
We've got membership and marketing directors, we've got general managers, we've got controllers and CFOs joining in the mix and it's a really good blend of people who have been in the industry for a long time.

00:05:39.774 --> 00:06:00.668
But there's a number of people who I've seen register already, who it's their first time ever working at a club and they're just trying to figure out how member communications, how marketing, how all of those things can happen at clubs up here in New England, who tend to be some of the more traditional clubs in the country, and they're just doing some really really fun things.

00:06:00.668 --> 00:06:05.091
So it should be a really good out-of-the-box thinking type of day fun thing.

00:06:05.112 --> 00:06:05.473
So it should be a.

00:06:05.473 --> 00:06:07.720
It should be a really good out of the box thinking type of day.

00:06:07.720 --> 00:06:11.767
That's why I really when cause at first I was like oh, like just the membership and marketing, because you know it's the PCMA.

00:06:11.767 --> 00:06:22.565
But as we started talking and you were telling me who's coming, like this is even better because, especially, you know we're in a second, we're going to talk about the, you know the schedule of the whole day, you know what people can expect, some takeaways and things.

00:06:22.565 --> 00:06:27.531
But because when we get to the end, we're doing like a jam session almost.

00:06:28.093 --> 00:06:30.255
I don't want to give away too much about it because it's going to be a ton of fun.

00:06:30.255 --> 00:06:37.261
But this is where innovation comes from is when you have such a A.

00:06:37.261 --> 00:06:38.687
It's going to be a tight knit group.

00:06:38.687 --> 00:06:43.125
So we're probably going to have 50, 60, 70 people, which is an amazing size.

00:06:43.942 --> 00:07:00.826
I love that because that's when you really get to connect more with people and for what we have planned, there's going to be tons of engagement with that and when you can have all these different perspectives, because perspective is key and that's where innovation and ideas come from.

00:07:00.826 --> 00:07:08.151
So if you can have these different ideas, these different backgrounds, these different stories that people bring to the table.

00:07:08.151 --> 00:07:54.502
That you know if, because we're going to come, you know, short story long, you know we're going to have people come up with different ideas, challenges, things that they're working through, and it might be a membership marketing issue, but you know you might be able to get some amazing perspective from somebody in the CFO level or the CF, you know, and just getting that different insight I think is going to be invaluable in such a tight knit environment, especially at a club, and if we can get all of these departments together underneath one roof to be bouncing around ideas as to how they can think differently about the way that they communicate with their members.

00:07:55.764 --> 00:08:06.552
And communications actually drives engagement, and so I really truly believe if you can get all those people in the same room, you're going to be able to bounce ideas off of each other.

00:08:06.552 --> 00:08:12.353
But it might not be the idea that happens that day that triggers success.

00:08:12.353 --> 00:08:14.463
It could be something that you know.

00:08:14.463 --> 00:08:27.682
If you've got the controller, the membership director and the general manager in the room and they're hearing how one club is implementing this program for their club, well, they may be able to adapt that and make it their own at their club.

00:08:27.682 --> 00:08:34.693
And I really enjoy doing a lot of non-private club industry education.

00:08:34.693 --> 00:08:41.109
I mean, I just got back from a number of different conferences, both virtual and in person, and they had nothing to do with private clubs.

00:08:41.109 --> 00:08:52.806
But what I took away from a lot of those education sessions that I attended were okay, well, this industry is doing this and this industry is doing that, and how can that apply over here to our private club industry?

00:08:52.806 --> 00:09:09.745
I think that that's spot on A couple of the things that I'm hoping to you know bring up during my presentation is where tradition meets tech, is where tradition meets tech, and I attended an incredible session with Dr David Thomas.

00:09:09.765 --> 00:09:22.509
He is the president of Morehouse College and he did an entire presentation on how you transform a storied organization that's been around for a number of years into something that's a little bit more innovative.

00:09:22.509 --> 00:09:37.311
And it's scary, and His conversation had nothing to do with private clubs, but I jotted down 10 incredible ideas that I was like oh, private clubs have been around for 25, 50, 75.

00:09:37.311 --> 00:09:44.688
Some clubs in New England they celebrated their 100th anniversary when I was born 42 years ago.

00:09:44.688 --> 00:10:10.442
So like that's where I think about the organizations that we have up here in New England and how they're evolving, with the way that they use technology, with the way that they, you know, generate new and innovative communications, because the way it's always been done doesn't really cut it anymore with your committees, and so I think that it'll be really good to get this group of people together and just bounce around ideas.

00:10:10.442 --> 00:10:16.309
I'm looking forward to taking away as many notes as hopefully people will take from our time as well.

00:10:17.235 --> 00:10:21.046
If you keep doing what you've always done, you're always going to get what you always got.

00:10:21.046 --> 00:10:21.768
Isn't that the thing?

00:10:21.768 --> 00:10:22.409
Something like that?

00:10:22.409 --> 00:10:34.763
I think it's got to be something like that Close, it's definitely snappier and better, but it's something along along along those lines um, but, yeah, we have let's, let's get to the actual day.

00:10:34.763 --> 00:10:40.220
So, uh, I am going to be hosting it and speaking as well, so I'm very excited for that.

00:10:40.279 --> 00:10:43.476
I do, uh, you know, besides doing shameless plug, my uh show for uh clubs all over the country.

00:10:43.476 --> 00:10:47.063
Uh, I do a lot of mc work for different organizations, groups, conferences, uh, even some some club stuff as well between, you know, member tournaments.

00:10:47.063 --> 00:10:56.288
Uh, over the country, I do a lot of MC work for different organizations, groups, conferences, even some club stuff as well between member tournaments, things of that nature.

00:10:56.288 --> 00:11:02.528
But I'm excited to be doing that as well, because it's not just about the magic and the entertainment.

00:11:02.528 --> 00:11:12.403
There's different fun icebreakers, there's different ways and there's an energy and art to almost emceeing a little bit as well and making sure everything runs and moves smoothly and things.

00:11:12.784 --> 00:11:16.038
But, uh, so we're going to get uh and it doesn't start early, which is very nice.

00:11:16.038 --> 00:11:18.764
Kudos to whoever set up the timeline.

00:11:18.764 --> 00:11:20.807
Thank you for not starting at 8 AM.

00:11:20.807 --> 00:11:24.477
Uh, thank you very much, guys, but uh, no.

00:11:24.477 --> 00:11:27.682
So you know we have a nice uh registration.

00:11:27.682 --> 00:11:30.846
So 10 to 10, 30, uh with a30, with a nice breakfast.

00:11:30.846 --> 00:11:35.371
Obviously we're going to get everything started off at about 1030.

00:11:35.371 --> 00:11:38.118
And then I'm going to be doing some stuff.

00:11:38.118 --> 00:11:56.004
We're going to welcome Sarah Becker from the PCMA, as well as Chris Carpenter, and then our friends Sandra and Brendan are going to start off the whole first session and I'll let you talk to it, since you know a little bit more on that.

00:11:56.687 --> 00:12:10.095
Yeah, so I've known Sandra Petty for years and have just started working with Brendan Albrezio over the last couple of years where he's been helping a lot of our clients implement their CRM solutions from a lead management standpoint.

00:12:10.095 --> 00:12:16.701
Clients implement their CRM solutions from a lead management standpoint and Sandra, brenda and I were in a meeting and running through how she is creating.

00:12:16.701 --> 00:12:24.764
Because Sandra, she's a team of one and if you haven't met her, you are in for a treat because one.

00:12:24.764 --> 00:12:30.802
She is a fireball of energy, but she's only one person.

00:12:30.802 --> 00:12:44.086
So she has to be super efficient in what she does from a lead management standpoint, because Nishada Country Club, here just outside of Boston one beautiful brand new clubhouse, so I'm excited for everybody to get to see that.

00:12:45.774 --> 00:12:57.139
But I've seen Sandra and Brendan kind of collaborate on different projects to help her be more efficient in how she manages the amount of people that are interested in her club Now one.

00:12:57.139 --> 00:12:58.904
They have the ability to take members in.

00:12:58.904 --> 00:13:01.924
Granted, there's still a process that goes into that.

00:13:01.924 --> 00:13:14.863
I don't believe there's availability for every single category, so she needs to flush out the people who are real leads and then how do you manage that all the way until you become a member at her club.

00:13:14.863 --> 00:13:24.558
So really I'm excited for that one because it's really just the tricks of the trade that Brendan and her have been implementing at her club to make her more efficient.

00:13:24.759 --> 00:13:27.543
Now would she like two other people in her marketing department?

00:13:27.543 --> 00:13:37.138
Probably Does she need that More than likely, but she has to be efficient with what she has and I think it's a really great.

00:13:37.138 --> 00:13:51.187
It'll be a really great session for a lot of the clubs here in New England to see how somebody who is a person of a team of one and how she's being super efficient managing member communications, a little bit of the event side of things and the marketing aspect of Nishotic.

00:13:52.327 --> 00:13:58.692
And to me, I just love tech, I love technologies, I love softwares.

00:13:58.692 --> 00:14:01.556
I have no clue why I just love it.

00:14:01.556 --> 00:14:08.139
I went to the dentist yesterday and I was looking at their screen and they're like you could sit down and I was like what does exposure level mean?

00:14:08.139 --> 00:14:09.000
I was like why is it here?

00:14:09.000 --> 00:14:09.741
And they're like you could sit down.

00:14:09.741 --> 00:14:10.804
Now I was like what does exposure level mean?

00:14:10.804 --> 00:14:11.346
I was like why is it here?

00:14:11.346 --> 00:14:11.927
And they're like what do you?

00:14:11.927 --> 00:14:13.993
I was like I was like this is like Jen, like what is like this, like what is your software?

00:14:13.993 --> 00:14:14.794
What is it telling you?

00:14:14.794 --> 00:14:55.291
And the fact that you know you could, that we're going to learn from there how they use HubSpot, and I think it's hey, here's how you could take the best of the best and connect them to make life a little bit easier if you could, if you could find that all-in-one solution that will handle everything, one, you'll probably buy a bigger boat after that.

00:14:55.370 --> 00:15:02.649
right, because it's really hard in any industry, whether it's private clubs or tech or podcasting or whatever you end up doing.

00:15:02.649 --> 00:15:12.229
Right, there's really no one software that does everything, and so one of the things that we love about HubSpot here at Members First, is that it connects directly into our platform.

00:15:12.229 --> 00:15:21.947
However, it also connects into every other platform that's out there as well, so you have a really good opportunity to use some of the best tech platforms that businesses are using today.

00:15:21.947 --> 00:15:30.360
I think before we got on this call, danny, we were looking at each other's screen and you noticed probably five different software platforms that I use, and I saw you taking notes.

00:15:35.375 --> 00:15:35.775
What is this?

00:15:35.775 --> 00:15:36.217
How do you do that?

00:15:36.217 --> 00:15:40.549
So I think one of the things that I think will really come out of Brendan and Sandra's session is a ton of questions.

00:15:40.549 --> 00:15:46.485
Right, because a lot of people are manually doing things today, and even we do manual things sometimes.

00:15:46.485 --> 00:15:57.221
Right, it's just a comfort level, but when you can automate something and not lose the personalization, I think that's really key, because you could be efficient and fun at the same time.

00:15:58.325 --> 00:16:04.099
There is an art to the automation, and I think I'm probably going to say that there's an art to everything probably this entire day and podcast.

00:16:04.099 --> 00:16:10.130
But no, it really is true, and when done well, you can't tell the difference.

00:16:10.130 --> 00:16:13.191
No, and it saves a bunch of time.

00:16:13.191 --> 00:16:16.113
So, yeah, I'm actually really excited for that one.

00:16:16.113 --> 00:16:17.230
I'm going to be taking a bunch of notes.

00:16:17.230 --> 00:16:20.390
Hopefully I don't get too lost in that to forget my MC duties.

00:16:21.187 --> 00:16:22.533
And you mentioned the late start time.

00:16:22.533 --> 00:16:28.255
The late start time, I think is really key because we already have people coming from.

00:16:28.255 --> 00:16:31.654
New England is a large area, right.

00:16:31.654 --> 00:16:37.768
I mean we've got a number of states that qualify as New England, but we have people.

00:16:37.768 --> 00:16:48.370
We already have clubs coming from Vermont, maine, rhode Island, massachusetts, connecticut and New York, even though New York is not part of New England.

00:16:48.370 --> 00:16:50.316
We got a couple people coming over here.

00:16:53.909 --> 00:16:55.235
No, that is, that's awesome.

00:16:55.235 --> 00:17:06.944
And so it's also not a super long day either, like it is, but it isn't, which is like there's a lot jammed in to a short amount of time, because you know so.

00:17:06.944 --> 00:17:14.112
Then, after we have the membership director's playbook, then we have an amazing lunch planned and we're not dragging out lunch either.

00:17:14.112 --> 00:17:16.473
I think sometimes people drag out lunch to an hour plus.

00:17:16.473 --> 00:17:17.810
We're keeping it 45 minutes.

00:17:17.810 --> 00:17:19.852
People don't need a ton of time.

00:17:19.852 --> 00:17:22.453
We're getting straight back into the action, so to speak.

00:17:23.365 --> 00:17:27.297
After lunch I have a really fun game planned.

00:17:27.297 --> 00:17:28.671
I will leave it at that.

00:17:28.671 --> 00:17:35.012
It's one of my favorite things to do to bring people back, especially at conferences and uh and events.

00:17:35.012 --> 00:17:37.663
Um, because after lunch is always the hardest.

00:17:37.663 --> 00:17:45.933
I don't know if it's the tryptophan in the in the turkey or what it is, but after lunch people are always a little, so just a fun way to kind of get that energy back up.

00:17:45.933 --> 00:17:46.715
So I'm excited for that.

00:17:46.715 --> 00:17:57.930
And then, uh, I'm going to talk a little bit about uh, podcasting, about private club radio, kind of the impact, impact that it's had on the private clubs and just all of that sort of stuff.

00:17:57.930 --> 00:18:00.596
It's one of those I hate talking about myself and things that.

00:18:00.676 --> 00:18:20.490
I'm going to jump in there for you, though, because, you know, as an active listener of your podcast, you have conversations with so many people in so many different aspects of the private club industry, but one of the things I really enjoy about your, about your podcast, is that you introduce all of us to people who are outside of the industry as well.

00:18:20.490 --> 00:18:26.294
Right, there's a number of guests that you've had on your show that I jot down notes on and I'm looking at.

00:18:26.294 --> 00:18:28.226
You know body language, I think.

00:18:28.226 --> 00:18:30.653
I think that was one of your first guests that came through.

00:18:30.913 --> 00:18:31.855
That was one of my favorites.

00:18:37.865 --> 00:18:38.748
And then you know Sarah Mueller.

00:18:38.748 --> 00:18:40.193
I know that you had an incredible conversation with her.

00:18:40.193 --> 00:18:44.529
You bring people from people outside of the industry to our industry and there's something that anybody could take away from that.

00:18:44.529 --> 00:18:51.952
So I'm I'm actually more excited for your presentation when you come up after lunch because, one, you got to get the crowd going again.

00:18:51.952 --> 00:19:02.832
But two, you know, you've probably learned so much from the industry, based off of talking to so many people in the industry, that there's going to be bits and pieces that we'll probably all have really great takeaways from that.

00:19:02.832 --> 00:19:04.991
So I'm looking forward to hearing you know what you've learned.

00:19:04.991 --> 00:19:07.106
You know in the last, what has it been?

00:19:07.106 --> 00:19:07.488
Has it been?

00:19:08.348 --> 00:19:09.109
Almost two years.

00:19:09.109 --> 00:19:10.010
Almost two years.

00:19:10.732 --> 00:19:13.537
Two years with getting Private Club Radio back on board here.

00:19:13.557 --> 00:19:23.631
So that's great Congratulations for that, thank you, and also doing some magic and some fun mixed in between throughout all of it too.

00:19:23.631 --> 00:19:37.578
So I'm excited for that, and then I'm actually very excited for yours, because it is where tradition meets tech and, you know, in really creating that seamless experience, digital experience for the club, the memberships and everybody involved.

00:19:37.578 --> 00:19:40.884
Why don't you talk a little bit more about what you have planned and some of the takeaways?

00:19:43.229 --> 00:19:51.320
So I work with clubs all over the country and different parts of the country kind of adapt to different types of technology quicker than others.

00:19:51.404 --> 00:19:56.335
And when I say technology, it doesn't necessarily mean club software that you use, right.

00:19:56.335 --> 00:20:03.089
It could be just what you're doing in terms of marketing and communications, how you're engaging your members.

00:20:03.089 --> 00:20:06.156
Technology promotes that right.

00:20:06.156 --> 00:20:17.931
I mean different platforms, different ways to do certain things, and a lot of the things that I'm hoping to bring to the group that day are really that you don't have to compromise.

00:20:17.931 --> 00:20:21.928
You don't have to compromise all the traditions and the cultures that you have at the club.

00:20:21.928 --> 00:20:26.026
However, you do need to be able to evolve because your members are evolving.

00:20:26.627 --> 00:20:42.644
I can't tell you how many clubs that I chat with and we talk about the average age and the demographics and nobody ever tells me that the average age is getting older, right, they're always saying it's getting younger, and I don't necessarily think it's an age thing when it comes to technology and communications.

00:20:42.644 --> 00:21:04.655
I think it's a willingness to learn and how to be a little bit more efficient, because I'm hoping to bring to the audience that you don't have to compromise to evolve, and there's a number of things that extremely traditional clubs up here in New England can learn from clubs all over the country.

00:21:04.655 --> 00:21:08.256
It's just they have to adapt it to their club and their community.

00:21:08.256 --> 00:21:19.417
So I've got a number of things that I'm going to kind of bring to the group that day and hopefully they'll enjoy it, because I think I go after you, which it's really hard to follow.

00:21:19.417 --> 00:21:25.871
It's really hard to follow a magician and a podcaster that has a huge following, so I'm going to do my best to follow that.

00:21:27.248 --> 00:21:27.810
No, stop it.

00:21:27.810 --> 00:21:36.819
But what I love about your session because you and I have talked about it and also all the other sessions is these aren't pitches either.

00:21:36.819 --> 00:21:39.032
This isn't like a giant pitch fest day.

00:21:39.032 --> 00:21:49.853
I know sometimes when people go to some stuff, whether it's intentional or not, it ends up sounding like a big pitch fest, and that's not what this is about.

00:21:49.853 --> 00:21:56.196
For this day it's very content and education focused.

00:21:57.606 --> 00:22:00.713
When I spoke with Holly Potter and Sarah Becker.

00:22:00.713 --> 00:22:05.846
Sarah Becker is the New England PCMA chapter president.

00:22:05.846 --> 00:22:09.096
She's the membership and marketing director over at Albany Country Club.

00:22:09.096 --> 00:22:14.618
She's that person coming from New York, so I'm hoping I have a Yankee fan coming with me, and then we've got Holly Potter, who's at the Hartford Golf Club.

00:22:14.618 --> 00:22:22.211
She's that person coming from New York, so I'm hoping I have a Yankee fan coming with me, and then we've got Holly Potter, who's at the Hartford Golf Club.

00:22:22.231 --> 00:22:36.388
She was the most recent national president of PCMA and we talked a lot about the education lineup for that day and what the goals for the day was, and we really wanted to make sure it was very clear to me and, I think, to the group that was planning it, that it can't be a pitch.

00:22:36.931 --> 00:22:38.053
It has to be something.

00:22:38.053 --> 00:22:55.398
All of the content needs to be things that they can implement using whatever platform they're doing, whether it's manual or using technology, and I think that that's going to be really important, especially when we get to the last session of the day, which is going to be that idea jam, and it's one of the coolest things.

00:22:55.398 --> 00:23:12.486
It's a different spin on roundtables and we've done this before with a few other associations around the country and it seemed to go over really, really well, because it's not your traditional roundtable where there's one question and everybody talks about it.

00:23:12.486 --> 00:23:15.632
Then they share, because that can be long and drawn out sometimes.

00:23:15.632 --> 00:23:27.607
So this is going to be, I think, a really fast paced way to end the day, learning from each other, with this entire idea jam that we'll be building throughout the day.

00:23:28.890 --> 00:23:42.568
Idea, jam, hot seat both names are things that we've kind of tossed around, and to me, the best part about this is it's not what's happening in this moment, it's the after effect, it's the people going.

00:23:42.568 --> 00:23:50.057
You know, it's the conversations after, Because we're wrapped up by 3.30, which is killer.

00:23:50.057 --> 00:23:53.057
So we have a lot jammed in from.

00:23:53.057 --> 00:24:03.099
I mean, if you want to say technically 10, but really 1030 to 330, we got a lot planned and we have a cocktail hour after party from.

00:24:03.099 --> 00:24:04.672
You know, three, three, three to four, 30.

00:24:04.672 --> 00:24:09.887
So so when I say three, you know people could leave, depending on where, where you, where you, you got to go.

00:24:09.948 --> 00:24:25.526
But it's those conversations after that, when somebody brings up something, and they don't necessarily have to say something right away, but they connect in the cocktail hour after, or they connect on LinkedIn after, or they just say, hey, listen, I've actually experienced that.

00:24:25.526 --> 00:24:26.730
I was just going through the same thing.

00:24:26.730 --> 00:24:32.230
Call me next week and I can tell you all about the things that we did, all the mistakes that we made.

00:24:32.230 --> 00:24:33.992
And here's what you can do to.

00:24:33.992 --> 00:24:36.638
You know, jump ahead 15 steps.

00:24:36.638 --> 00:24:39.765
That's the, that's the truth, that's the gold.

00:24:39.924 --> 00:24:42.190
That's the true power of community.

00:24:42.190 --> 00:24:50.474
And and when you get all of these people together from different departments and different clubs, um, it's it.

00:24:50.474 --> 00:24:52.618
It's really how it's how I learn.

00:24:52.618 --> 00:24:56.482
It's really how I learn.

00:24:56.482 --> 00:25:10.744
And one of the most exciting things that I do after kind of education industry events is I go back, look at all the chicken scratch notes that I've taken and then I leverage probably a few different tools to clean that up and say, hey, what were the best takeaways?

00:25:10.744 --> 00:25:16.298
But I think that all of those ideas usually come to you after the education.

00:25:16.298 --> 00:25:22.365
So we're going to jam pack it into that, that, that full day and and hopefully, hopefully, those people who are traveling.

00:25:22.365 --> 00:25:25.494
We've got a really cool connection with the local hotel.

00:25:25.494 --> 00:25:33.750
So if anybody is staying the night, sandra Petty from the shot of country club was able to, you know, pull a few different resources.

00:25:33.750 --> 00:25:36.075
So if anybody is staying, they don't need to make the super long drive.

00:25:36.075 --> 00:25:38.459
If they're, sandra Petty from Neshada Country Club was able to pull a few different resources.

00:25:38.459 --> 00:25:39.682
So if anybody is, staying.

00:25:39.701 --> 00:25:41.484
They don't need to make the super long drive if they're coming from a few hours away.

00:25:41.484 --> 00:25:44.308
I will be staying over, obviously not driving back to PA.

00:25:44.308 --> 00:25:45.772
But no, I am super stoked for this.

00:25:45.772 --> 00:25:47.256
This is going to be a great day.

00:26:01.085 --> 00:26:06.010
And a big thank you to PCMA as well, because you know the the New England chapter here is is such a tight group of people and you know their their events are always, are always, great.

00:26:06.010 --> 00:26:12.338
But I thought it was really cool that they were opening up this event to to other associations, because they really wanted to make this an inclusive group of all departments.

00:26:12.338 --> 00:26:32.393
Right, reaching out to CMAA, reaching out to HFTP there's a ton of New England associations up here and I think it's really cool that they were able to invite others to this and the attendee list is really showing that that will make for a much better day.

00:26:33.453 --> 00:26:36.817
And your bang for buck.

00:26:36.817 --> 00:26:44.547
I don't know of any other place you can get breakfast, lunch and credits.

00:26:44.547 --> 00:26:47.513
For what is it?

00:26:47.513 --> 00:26:48.476
75 bucks.

00:26:49.057 --> 00:26:49.778
It's a steal.

00:26:51.886 --> 00:26:52.730
Highway robbery.

00:26:54.076 --> 00:27:04.240
But you know, and it's going to be a really cool way, it's a steal Highway robbery but, you know, and it's going to be a really cool way, and even if none of the education interests you, you should still come because, as most of you know, the food at these events are incredible.

00:27:04.240 --> 00:27:15.035
And the Shottock Country Club they literally knocked down their clubhouse in 2020 and rebuilt it, and it is one of the coolest places in New England.

00:27:15.035 --> 00:27:26.032
So, if you haven't been there, it's a really good chance to take a tour of an amazing club who has, you know, rebuilt itself from 2020 to, you know, now almost 2025.

00:27:26.032 --> 00:27:29.078
And it's a really unique space.

00:27:29.078 --> 00:27:35.146
So I'm excited for not only the day, but I'm excited for the attendees to get to see this really, really great club.

00:27:36.569 --> 00:27:38.233
All day, all day link.

00:27:38.233 --> 00:27:40.519
