Deliberate Evolution: 6 Stops every leader must make to step into a life of success
I am an executive chef with over 30 years of experience at elite country clubs. After facing repeated cycles of burnout, I found myself weighing 300 pounds. On January 1, 2019, I decided to make a pivotal change and began training for a Spartan race. By October that year, I had lost 70 pounds and completed my first Spartan race in my 50s.
However, I soon realized that while I had made significant physical changes, my mental well-being still needed attention. Through this journey, I discovered that harnessing purpose enables us to become the best versions of ourselves. When applied to leadership and team dynamics, this approach can transform our clubs and significantly enhance the overall member experience.
Earlier this year, I published my book, ‘Deliberate Evolution: 6 Stops Every Leader Must Make to Step into a Life of Success,' sharing insights from my experiences and those of other hospitality professionals. Today, I coach hospitality leaders to evolve into their best selves and am launching a new program for private clubs, “The Purpose-Driven Leadership Alignment Program,” developed in collaboration with several country club general managers.
I'm committed to helping others in the hospitality industry overcome their challenges and achieve both personal and professional growth.
